T-day Tip: Beat the Bloat with this winning nutritional combo!

Hey ya'll! Happy 4th of July Eve.

Any fun plans?! I plan to spend the day on the beach, unless Hurricane Arthur decides to (literally) rain on parade, in which case I can be found snuggled on my couch with a good book. Win/win, I say.

As the title of this post suggests, I'm announcing that days of the week that start with "T" are now for nutrition tips! I'll keep 'em brief, snappy, and *hopefully* informative because, let's face it, ain't nobody got time for that. At least, not all day and we all know that I can be a bit wordy!

So without further ado, this T-day's Tip comes directly from the pages of Fitness Magazine. The article breaks down the best nutritional choices ("Fuel") to achieve a specific goal ("Feat"). For example, what is the winning dietary combo to help you stave off bloat and rock a two piece?! According to the expert, potassium-rich foods "help flush bloat-causing fluids from your system." A large banana contains nearly 500 milligrams of potassium, and a cup of fresh spinach? More than 800!

So on beach day, try a banana smoothie blended with ice, almond or coconut milk, and your protein powder of choice. Follow it up with a lunch loaded with those dark leafies, and banish that bloat once and for all! Be sure to avoid cruciferous veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, etc.) and other fiber-laden foods which can cause gas.

Get a double dose of potassium! Try a banana-and-spinach
smoothie!
Enjoy the holiday and weekend, everyone!
