A Site a Day in the Month of May: MobilityWOD.com + BJGaddour.com

Good Wednesday morning to you!

In case you didn't notice, I forgot to post yesterday (oops!). I was dealing with a personal issue, on top of being super busy at work, so other things took priority. I had a productive day in spite of it all, which freed me up some time today to be able to feature not one, but TWO sites for you to check out!

First off, we have MobilityWOD.com. For those of you familiar with the Cross Fit world and its lingo, you know WOD stands for "Workout of the Day." Kelly Starrett, co-founder of MobilityWod.com, co-opted the acronym and has applied it to this amazing resource guide for "resolving pain, preventing injury, and optimizing athletic performance." The site features countless instructional videos for anyone from the weekend warrior to the athlete to the physical therapist interested in identifying inefficiencies in movement to be able to perform at one's best, or help one's clients do so.

Scary implement to use to get your muscles more supple!
I like MobilityWOD.com because it puts the individual in charge of his or her rehabilitation. It gives you the tools to diagnose and treat yourself, putting you at the center of your care. It's biohacking at its finest :-)

The other site I highly recommend that you check out is one I happened upon by accident. I think I was fiddling around on Instagram, and one of the trainers I follow had tagged BJ Gaddour on his post. Curious, I clicked over to BJ's Instagram feed and was utterly wowed. He's the King of bodyweight training, my favorite modality! More than intrigued, I Googled the man who just released "Your Body is Your Barbell" with Men's Health, and found his blog. It's chock-full of training videos to get you ripped sans implements, and he's also really into mobility work, with which I have a love/hate relationship. I love how I feel afterwards, but I hate doing it because it forces me to confront my chronically-immobile hips and sore lower back. BJ's style and approach, much like Mary Poppins, helps the medicine go down a whole lot better!

No gym, no problem! Gravity's FREE!
