A Site a Day in the Month of May: Abeautifulmess.com

Sometimes, you just feel like craftin'...at least, that's the case for me. More often than not, however, my inspiration doesn't evolve beyond scrolling through A Beautiful Mess to "ooh" and "ahh" over all the craft projects from which I could choose :-) I'm not a person who would consider herself crafty at all, but something always comes over me after I spend a little time on this site: I suddenly want to plant an herb garden, build a bookshelf, and make hipster cocktails for my imaginary hipster friends.

In other words: this site is dangerous! Proceed with caution! You may leave it with a false sense of your ability to crochet!

I kid, I kid...but truly, A Beautiful Mess is beautiful. It's not a mess in the least, and is in fact lovingly maintained and curated by the most adorable sister duo, Elsie & Emma. Elsie handles most of the crafty projects, and Emma prepares beautiful recipes of which she takes mouth-watering photos to share. The sisters share a lot about their personal lives outside of blogging, as well, which creates a nice balance. I especially like the "Sister Style" feature.

If you're feeling the itch to make something, bake something, photograph something, or need some fashion inspiration, I highly recommend this blog. There's even an app! The one and only DIY project that I ever finished was this garment rack. Once I purchased everything I needed from Home Depot, the assembly was a breeze and had I ever gotten around to spray-painting it...it would have been a beautiful shade of purple :-) Regardless, it came out awesome, and more importantly, served its purpose to a T:
