I've noticed that a lot of the fitness professionals that I follow have been talking lately about how the fun element of fitness seems to have been lost. The playful nature with which we approached recess and sports as kids has given way to a feeling of exercise as yet another task to check off the "to-do" list.
What do we lose along with that element of wonder and fun when it comes to fitness? For one, fitness becomes drudgery and it gets hard to stay motivated. We also lose that element of appreciation for the ability to move our bodies, and gratitude--a positive, uplifting emotion--diminishes, leaving us to take the gift of movement for granted.
How can we reintroduce fun into our workouts?! By incorporating PLAY and GAMES, reminiscent of the recesses of our childhood, that's how! And what better way to start than by implementing some of these awesome drills, courtesy of ACE Fitness?! Check them out, and I'll see you on the playground!!!!!
